The new version includes increased usability as well as features for secure collaboration. This is especially important for teams in business environments and for private users who want to securely share access to files without having to reveal their private passwords.
Boxcryptor will remain a zero knowledge provider and does not have access to the userís information or the userís private keys. Any information they receive from users is always encrypted and protected by the userís password which is kept secret and never leaves the userís device nor is transferred to anyone.
The new Boxcryptor generation is now available in six languages for Windows, Android and iOS (iPhone/iPad). The OS X version will be ready in a few weeks.
Also with the 2.0 version, private users can start with a free version. Those who want to benefit from all features (e.g. file name encryption) can upgrade to an Unlimited Personal license (US $44.99/year) or an Unlimited Business license (US-$ 99.99/year) for business use. Companies and teams starting at 5 users also have the option to upgrade to a special company package (starting at US $ 8/user/month).
